In the main event, Jon Jones pulled out a split decision victory over Thiago Santos to defend his light heavyweight title just minutes after close friend and training partner Holly Holm was knocked out.

Amanda Nunes defended her bantamweight belt with a first round knockout over Holm in the co-main event.

Jorge Masvidal, meanwhile, set a new UFC record by finishing Ben Askren in five seconds.
