UFC 230 Results: Daniel Cormier Makes History In Madison Square Garden

Conor McGregor might have been the first fighter to hold two UFC titles at the same time, but McGregor never defended either belt.

Cormier, while likely to be stripped of the light heavyweight crown soon, did indeed do just that, defending his heavyweight title with a submission victory over Derrick Lewis Saturday night in the main event of UFC 230.

With the win, Cormier is now second on the UFC/PRIDE/WEC/Strikeforce heavyweight list for unbeaten streaks at 12, three ahead of Junior dos Santos and four behind Fedor Emelianenko.

In the co-main event, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza knocked out Chris Weidman in the third round, likely securing himself either a future middleweight title shot or No. 1 contender match.
