Synergy FC returned to Memorial Hall in Kansas City on August 8 with a card that ran across MMA, kickboxing and Synergy Boxing — and delivered six submissions, a new champion, and a main event that turned on a single round-three sequence.
Main Event: Christensen Stops Moore in the Third
In the night’s finale, Hayes Christensen stopped Brant Moore by TKO at 1:01 of the third round. Moore, returning to competition at 9-2, had his moments early, but Christensen closed the second round with four unanswered elbows that opened a cut on Moore’s forehead — and finished seconds into the third as Moore covered against the fence. The Las Vegas-based veteran, a three-time bare-knuckle winner, moves to 5-3 as a professional.
Nezami Claims the Vacant Featherweight Title
Amir Nezami left no doubt in his second run at Synergy FC gold, taking the vacant Amateur Featherweight Championship by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27) over Dylan Woosley. Both men had fallen short in previous title attempts; Nezami’s kicking game and late takedown control separated a fight that stayed competitive to the final bell.
Herrera’s First Pro Win
Bryan Herrera earned his first professional victory in the co-main event, converting a standing guillotine into a power guillotine to finish Zack Mendez at 3:52 of the opening round.
Notable Performances
Cohen Bane survived a deep buggy choke inside the first minute against Cade Wathke, escaped, took the back and finished by rear naked choke in just 71 seconds. Richard Dralu handed previously unbeaten Robert Kelly his first loss by arm-triangle choke, moving to 6-0. Brody McManamon needed 1:42 to reach 3-0. And in the Synergy Boxing opener, Adam Halliday outlasted Trinton Stewart in a two-round war the broadcast crew called one of the wildest fights they had ever seen.
