Strongman Turned Boxer: “The Celtic Hammer” Casey Walters Makes Debut July 18
Denver fight fans — get ready to meet a different kind of heavyweight.
On Friday, July 18th, Casey Walters makes his boxing debut at Friday Night Fights: The Last Desperado at the Eclipse Events Center, streaming live on MMA Futures. But this isn’t your average rookie. Known as “The Celtic Hammer,” Walters brings raw power, athletic grit, and a blue-collar work ethic forged in the worlds of Strongman and the Scottish Highland Games.
“For years I’ve had the itch to give combat sports a try,” Walters said. “Now it’s finally happening.”
After nearly a year of dedicated boxing training at Battletested Gym, Walters is stepping into the ring for the first time against Conrad Bojorguez. Backed by his coach, family, and friends from Colorado to his home state of Louisiana, Walters is ready to test himself under the lights.
Every event streams live and on demand — full cards, replays, and the archive.
Watch on MMA Futures“I’d have to say Butterbean and George Foreman are my boxing favorites — both had a style I can relate to.”
When he’s not training, you’ll find Casey spending time with his wife and son, exploring the outdoors, or staying active in strength sports like the Highland Games. He’s also a proud LSU and Saints fan, and works at Colorado Mesa University and RFTA in Aspen.
“This debut could be the start of something big — we’ll find out Friday night.”
🎟️ Don’t miss Casey Walters vs. Conrad Bojorguez — streaming live only on MMA Futures at 6PM MT on July 18th.
