After nearly two decades inside wrestling rooms, local gyms, and cage doors across the Midwest, Nebraska veteran Jeremy Small is preparing to walk into the Dynasty Combat Sports cage one final time. And if this truly is his MMA farewell, he plans to make Friday night at Seasons Beatings something fans will never forget. Small returns this Friday at Dynasty Combat Sports 102: Seasons Beatings, which you can read more about in our full event preview.
Small’s journey through MMA isn’t like most modern fighters. Long before structured camps, meal plans, or carefully spaced competition schedules, he was part of an era where fighters took bouts as fast as promoters could book them.
“I think between 2007 and 2010 I had 32 amateur fights,” Small said in our interview. “There were weekends where we’d fight four shows in a row. No breaks. It probably burned me out a little.”
Those early days forged him into a durable, technical grappler with long limbs and a calm, methodical submission game. Every one of his professional wins has come by finish, and even today, at age 36, Small still has the instincts of a closer.
But this camp feels different.
Small has returned home to Precision Combat Sports on Saltillo in Lincoln — a room full of longtime teammates and respected coaches like Robert Rojas, Robert Anderson, Andrew Huffman, and Nate Morrow. It is a familiar setting loaded with talent, experience, and the kind of tight-knit grind that pushes a veteran to rediscover purpose.
“It helps having the gym just 20–25 minutes away instead of driving 45 minutes across Lincoln,” Small said. “Training’s been good. And honestly… yeah, this is probably my last MMA fight.”
That honesty is part of what makes this matchup so compelling.

Watch on MMA FuturesOn Friday night, Small meets undefeated professional Sean Lindgren, one of Nebraska’s fastest-rising welterweights. Where Small brings time-tested experience, Lindgren brings momentum and youth — a classic veteran vs. up-and-comer storyline that adds layers of meaning to the co-main event.
With all the miles behind him, Small isn’t clinging to nostalgia nor dwelling on past wins and losses. Instead, he’s embracing gratitude — for his team, for the long journey, and for the people who helped shape his career.
“I’m 36 years old,” he said. “This might be it. So I’m going out with a bang either way.”
Small’s legacy extends beyond his own record. Today he serves as a coach with the Crete Wrestling Club, helping develop youth athletes the same way coaches poured into him two decades ago. His story is about longevity, mentorship, and staying grounded through the highs and lows of combat sports.
Whether this is his final walk or simply the closing of one chapter, one thing is certain: Jeremy Small is bringing everything he has to Seasons Beatings.
And fans won’t want to miss it.
