Grant Dawson has competed all around the United States.
Now, he will head overseas for his next UFC appearance.
Dawson, a native of Stromsberg, Nebraska, will meet Nad Narimani in a catchweight bout at 150 pounds on July 18 from UFC Fight Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The promotion is heading to Yas Island in July for four events in all.
In an ironic twist, Dawson’s bout with Narimani takes place as part of the prelim card to a flyweight title rematch between Deiveson Figueiredo and Joseph Benavidez.
When the 26-year-old Dawson topped Darrick Minner this past February, it was on the same card as the first encounter between Figueiredo and Benavidez.
Overall, Dawson is 15-1 with 11 wins via submission and three by knockout. He has scored victories in each of his last six fights, including three in the UFC and another on Dana White’s Contender Series.
His opponent, Narimani, is 12-3 and coming off a loss to Mike Grundy that snapped a five-fight win streak.
