The Breakdown: Cutting Weight

Many combat sport athletes strive to compete in the lightest weight class possible. With cutting weight, they believe that this will give them an advantage of size, strength, speed, power, etc. As a result, there are both short-term and long-term strategies that every fighter who is trying to cut weight uses.

The Cost of Combat

If you do not have a passion for the sport of Mixed Martial Arts, then the cost of combat will be far too high. In addition to the physical training, the cost of being a fighter goes beyond the physical and the mental, it actually comes straight from your bank account.

MMA Strength and Conditioning

What is at the core of a great MMA fighter? The mastery of various martial arts is a HUGE part of it but strength and conditioning is also a big part. An MMA fighter has to be strong enough to dominate the opponent, throw powerful punches and kicks, absorb impact, and be able to resist a constant application of force. He or she has to be powerful and fast, and have enough endurance to be able to perform at high level for five 5-minute rounds.

Israeli Fight Legend Returns

Israeli Fight Legend Ido Pariente returns to the gym where he got his start in Mixed Martial Arts. Lincoln Martial Arts Center will be hosting a six-day seminar with Ido Pariente, February 20-22 and February 27 through March 1st.
