Bellator MMA will mark its debut on DAZN, an all-digital streaming service, this Saturday with Bellator 206: Mousasi vs. MacDonald.
In the main event, Gegard Mousasi defends his middleweight title against reigning welterweight champion Rory MacDonald.
Also featured will be the fourth encounter all-time between Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Wanderlei Silva, the start of the Bellator Welterweight Grand Prix with former champions Douglas Lima and Andrey Koreshkov meeting for a third time, Aaron Pico vs. Leandro Higo, Keri Taylor-Melendez vs. Dakota Zimmerman and Gaston Bolanos vs. Ysidro Gutierrez.
Emanating from the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif. this Saturday, Bellator 206 will bring together an on-air all-star team including Mauro Ranallo and “Big” John McCarthy calling all the action cageside. Renowned sports broadcaster Jay Glazer will host the desk with expert commentary and analysis from Chael Sonnen and Josh Thomson. Mike Goldberg and Jenn Brown will provide behind-the-scenes updates and breaking news as roving reporters throughout the night. Veteran announcer Michael C. Williams will serve in his customary role as in-cage announcer.
The promotion also announced that they have reached an agreement with the rapper, “50 Cent,” for a number of ventures moving forward.
“We are thrilled to partner with such a legendary icon who has been a friend to the Bellator family for quite some time. The “Get The Strap” apparel line is just the beginning of many joint ventures we will explore together,” said Scott Coker, President of Bellator MMA.
The deal includes champagne, apparel and will see 50 Cent present the winner of the grand prix with a million dollars.
“I am excited to partner with the Bellator Viacom franchise. Mixed martial arts yields some of the most action-packed events in the world. I’m excited for people to see how I plan to shake up MMA with the integration of my ‘Get The Strap’ trademark as well as my luxury champagne Le Chemin du Roi.” said Jackson.
