Amanda Nunes is not just a legendary MMA fighter; she is a trailblazer. As the first openly gay champion in UFC history and the first woman to hold two championship belts simultaneously, Nunes has forged her path in the MMA world.
Born in a small town in Brazil, Nunes began training in karate at age four and boxing at age sixteen. Today, her powerful strikes and exceptional grappling skills make her one of the most feared fighters in women’s MMA.
Her victories over other legends, including Ronda Rousey, Cris Cyborg, and Valentina Shevchenko, have further solidified her status as the greatest female fighter of all time. With an indomitable spirit and a roaring presence, Nunes’ recent retirement will leave a giant hole in womens MMA.
